The Hurricane X was basically a Canadian Car and Foundry built Hurricane I with a cut down Fairey Battle prop. I'll be building Hurri X RCAF # 1352 of 125 Squadron based at CFB Torbay, Newfoundland. Here is a really poor shot of my subject:
My ingredients will be a 2082, an Aeroclub Battle prop, an Aeroclub control column, and either an Aeroclub Merlin or an Engines and Things Merlin. I am leaning toward using the Engines and Things Merlin to save nose weight. I also haven't worked out if I will be using the whole engine or just the front...probably just the front.

Even though I haven't been posting, I've been making some progress on the Hurricane X.
The first order of business was to open out the nose in order to fit a front plate for the Merlin. I decided to use the part cut off the front of the Engines and Things Merlin because being resin it wouldn't weight down the nose as much. I painted it up and have now installed the engine front on the fuselage. I have also cut down the Battle prop to get it more to Hurricane X style.
The cockpit is all painted up and installed. Mostly out of the box, but I did add a paper instrument panel and an Aeroclub control column.
At the last minute this morning I decided to box in the wheel wells a little, so once that is done the wings can go on. I should be ready to start painting this week...
Pictures in the next few days.

I decided that it was necessary to do something for the wheel wells, so I made a false floor to cut off much of the view of the interior of the fuselage. I have a little more sanding to do, then I can paint the wheel wells, add the wing and get on with painting the thing.
Photos soon.

Ok pics finally. First step was to drill out the nose. Looks like a Hurri-Sabre now...
The Engines and Things Merlin was cut down the front piece inserted into the open nose. Sorry for the poor quality pics:
Cockpit has tape seatbelts, an Aeroclub stick, and a paper instrument panel:
