Do you remember any details of the crest? The only thing I have come across is for an American unit, the 368th Fighter Group.

A wild guess, but could it be this Mitchell?

Frog B 25. I have that kit and decal option in the stash. I may also have a spare decal set.

Frog's B-25 pops up from time to time on Ebay. Never too expensive. I can't remember if NOVO ever got the tools for this one. I've not seen one.

Were there Bostons in 633 Squadron? I can only remember the Mosquitos, mind you it's ages since I read it.
What is the make up of this project?
The 'Nulli Secundus' and Lion shown on the Mitchell are off the coat of arms of Holland, I seen to remember, so maye it's a Free Netherlands squadron.

Nulli secundus meaning "second to none" is also the motto of the 2nd (Coldstream) Guards, or it used to be at least.

Sorry i didnt answer fully,I just made up the aircraft that appeared in the book i made FW190's (Ta152's!) a flak boat to name a few and used Mossies to bomb the coastal defence fort placed between a valley made of pillows! see who needs X box?
As for the crest i seem to remember an orange/white checkerboard design which would fit in with Dutch heraldry Very Happy

633 Sqn Bostons.

There were 6 novels about this fictional squadron. The first covers their conversion from Bostons to Mosquitos. The Bostons are featured in a coastal strike staged before the squadron were taken out of the line to convert.

The squadron flew a series of modified Mosquitos. Each was specific to their missions, including a sort of Highball conversion. All interesting What Ifs. The colour schemes varied from the usual camo as seen in the film, to PRU Blue, Grey Green and D Day stripes. Quite a selection.

Armament for the aircraft in the original was a special bomb, based on cross between the cookie and a small Earthquake / Grand Slam type. The guns were all nose mounted and were 2 x 20 mm and 2 x 303.

I think they wrecked one. The burn out ones were mock ups similar to what they did in 'battle of britain'. Sad

The famous crash scene was filmed from different angles and then used for numerous crashes in both films.

One B35 made it's way to Strathallan, where it was repainted in silver. When the collection was sold, it was bought by Kermit Weeks and then flown to the USA. I think it's still airworthy. I've no idea where the others went. Probably to museums.

The ones that crashed in the raid were probably all Airfix kits. That's what they looked like when they blew up. Apparently, the fjord scene was what they based the attack on the Death Star on when making Star Wars IV.

I'd love to see 633 Squadron remade with CGI used for the big battle scene. The rest of it was pretty good. It's just the models that let it down. I'm sure they could overlay a Bf 110 over the Bf 108 in the airfield raid too. How about that ? They did it with Star Wars, after all, and 633 Sqn is an iconic film.

The Kermit Weeks B35 is located at the EAA Air Adventure Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I do not think it is currently airworthy however they towed into the sunlight at the last Air Show. It is wonderful to see a real Mossie. And it is only a five hour drive for me to get there.

I believe another went to the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton,Ohio.

Hope this helps.
