Just a quick update. Finally got a day off work and some sunshine so I can take some pics of the latest edition to my Spitfire project. The Greek Mk 16e.
More pics in the aviation section.
The Syrian Spitfire F22 is at a standstill due to workload but I should make some progress this week
I also intend to start the Swiss Hunter for the GB.
Bye. _________________ Ongoing Projects:

Next up I have this Hasegawa Spitfire Mk IXc.
As you can see I have added a couple of extended wing tips as I intend to finish this one as a Danish HF Mk IX. The Hasegawa kit is a work of art and I hope I will do it justice. I have reached this stage in a little over an hour with no filler required yet! A huge contrast to the old or limited run kits I have been using.
It should end up looking something like this:
I have a set of decals from Heritage aviation to complete this one before I take a break from Spitfires. Lets see how long I can last! _________________ Ongoing Projects:

Been a bit busy of late but managed to get a bit of work done on the Syrian Spitfire today.
It;s just about there but I have had to scrap the kit UC as they are useless. I will have to raid the spares box for a replacement set. The kit prop & blades went the same way too. The one you see is from an old Testors Spitfire F22 kit. Never throw anything away.
The canopy framing looks a bit too thick as well but I am past caring at this point!
The decals are Esci I think and I threw in the eagle (?) emblem below the canopy because I like it.
This one will go on the back burner now as I want to get cracking on the Hunter GB. I have started the cockpit! _________________ Ongoing Projects:

Nice one Old_Tonto. You can never have enough Spits! I like the mantra 'never throw anything away'. It's something I also follow... not that 'er indoors appreciates it

I was drowning my sorrows but my sorrows learnt to swim.
It must be that time of the week again, update time. I have got cracking on the Hunter for the GB.
I must say it's a very nice kit and fits together well although it was a bit of a squeeze getting the nose, weight and UC bay attached around the cockpit tub. I hope to get the main assembly completed tomorrow - gota love that weekend overtime, caching.
The Syrian Spitfire now has legs, just need to add the outer UC doors & cannon barrel and she is done.
The Danish Spitfire Mk IX has it's first coat of grey and is shown here with the decals from Whirlybird. It should look good when finished.
Although it's hard to make a Spitfire look ugly! Should get this one camoflaged tonight as SWMBO is having a girly makeup party tonight so I shall run off to the attic workbench. You know how smutty women of a certain age can get.
That's it for now. _________________ Ongoing Projects:

It's time for an update. Been concentrating on completing the Hunter which is now done.
And the Danish Spitfire is nearly there, should be finished before Telford:
The decals on this one have been a real nightmare, being out of register, extremely fragile and the white numbers disintegrated when they hit the water. Have to source some more now!
I know I promised to take a break from Spitfires for a while but I need to slim down my spares box a bit so I think I can build at least 3 Mk V Spits from this lot and do them as Yugoslavian (RAF).
As you can see I have used most of the bits for paint tests etc. but hopefully they should be ok.
See you at Telford. _________________ Ongoing Projects:

Back from Telford with a replenished stash, restrained myself and only added two Airfix Spitfires - just to see what they are like.
I completed the Syrian Spitfire:
More on the Aviation section.
One thing I did find at Telford was my Mojo so lots more Spitfires on the way! _________________ Ongoing Projects:

Hi
F22 looks great, I know its a pig of kit but you have turned it into a silk purse!!! What Spits do you intend to do next?
Thanks for the kind words, it's hardly a work of art but to be honest I was sick of it by the end.
I have just started these two Airfix kits that I picked up at Telford:
The Mk XIX will be Thai finished PRU Blue & grey like RAF aircraft whilst the Mk IX is going to be Egyptian in Dark EarthMid Stone over grey, again like RAF. Both have just fallen together and the only filler will be on the wing to fuselage join. I can live with that.
Also on the bench A Mk IX Hasegawa kit in Danish colours. Three Mk V's at least two of which will be 352 Sqn RAF (Yugoslavian) the other may be Portuguese if I can find the decals. I also have an Academy Mk XIV which I am renovating to become a Belgium Spit. At work I have a KP Mk IXe on the bench but have not finalised a colour scheme yet.
I think 8 on the go at once is a record for me. Didn't realise it was that many! _________________ Ongoing Projects:

I'm just about done with my Airfix PR XIX, its a lovely little kit.
I haven't seen the MK IX in stores yet. What marking options does it come with?
