I noticed in the latest email update from Airfix that they are re-releasing their WWI male tank and adding a female in 1/76
This is great news. I will now be able to build a male, female, hermophradite and a transport variant.

Well done Airfix Very Happy

You might want to do some research first, Dai. I'd start with googling "Airfix WW1 Tank Review"

A bit too criptic for me there Brews, I googled exactly what you suggested and found nothing of any use ! I loved to original WW1 tank when it first came out, mind you I was only 12 at the time ! Alan

Well, it was only a suggestion! The thing is, the Airfix tank is in no-man's land (if you'll excuse the pun). Like the 8-wheeled German Armoured Car, it is a bit of a mish-mash.

A far better effort came from Emhar, and they also did the Female, and the German A7V. They also did these in 1:35 scale, too.

I built two of the emhar kits and i wasnt impressed they are a bit 'vague' in terms of locating pieces and some of the detail although very finely moulded is very fragile.A nicely proportioned kit but i prefer the airfix any day Very Happy

Check out the landships site; it is full of useful info on how to correct the Airfix MK1 Male: it is closer to the MKII rather than the MK1

I don't know which Mk was turned into the Hermaphrodite but there was a set of conversion articles in the old Airfix Magazine. These also included the "Tadpole".
